WOW CAFE THEATER CELEBRATES
300 YEARS OF WOMEN AND TRANS THEATER..

FRIDAY, MAY 19TH

9:00pm-10:00pm In the Company of Friends
Deirdre Boddie-Henderson collaborates with a few of her friends, including Tara Thierry and Sharon-Jane Smith, to create a dialogue word, rhythm and movement. Voices from the past and present are come together to show the power and struggle of womyn's pride. "And ain't I a woman?".

---- 1-2pm Breathwork with Amy Verebay
Amy Verebay is a huge fan of breathing. She loves to share the magic and power of breathwork with people who are committed to their own deep personal growth. She combines her talents as a dancer, singer, and trained energy worker to help people gain powerful insight into themselves and to facilitate them in transforming their lives. Amy has helped people with anxiety, insecurities, stress, and the most common disorder of all, seriousness. She teaches in private practice in her home in Brooklyn, and has taught groups and individuals in New England and Canada.
---- 2-3pm Yoga Class (open level) with Helen Styring Tocci
Helen Styring Tocci received her yoga teaching certification at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. She teaches private lessons in and around NYC.
---- 3-4pm Nutrition Lecture, workshop leader TBA

Receive a reiki session or reflexology treatment from a certified practitioner. Donations are appreciated. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to experience your body’s power to heal itself! To participate in workshops wear comfortable clothing.

6-7pm Mi última noche con Rubén Blades (My Last Night with Rueben Bladesby) Tere Martínez
This piece tells the story of Yanira Montalvo, a 35-year-old woman who cleans floors in a New York City office building. Her life is hard, but she faces it with humor and a passion for music. To survive her daily problems, Yanira creates a fantasy: her own love affair with salsa singer, Ruben Blades.
The piece is performed in Spanish, with English subtitles.

8-9pm Thirst
Written by Tanwi Nandini Islam and Alicia Virani. The depletion of water affects us all...even queer, corporate, immigrants??? Thirst is a BOLD EXPLORATION searching for...yes, water. Politics, pleasure, and enough lubrication to keep you slidin in your seat.

9-10pm Time and the River
a film about fathers who hand down their love of the Mississippi to their daughters.

10:30pm The Barbarian Burlesque Cabaret

Could you spare some Social Change, please?"
Written and performed by Deirdre Boddie-Henderson
A one woman show
Seven characters, including a preacher, a mother and a homeboy, give voice to how certain social problems have affected their lives. You will laugh, cry and maybe even say amen.

ALL Tickets are sliding scale $10-15) shows start promptly as listed. Doors open 30 minutes before first show of the evening and are reopened between shows for an evening.
