Crawlspace a reading and benefit party - with a tasting menu

Monday, May 10, 2010, 8pm

You’re invited to attend a reading of my new play currently entitled Crawlspace about an interracial relationship between two women from the south transplanted to a broken down haunted New York city ten years from now, in an America grappling with ghosts of a not so distant past and the consequences they have wrought us physically, psychologically and preternaturally.  A southern gothic noire and political thriller.  It’s at once deeply personal as well as political.

Come for a sneak peak and a night of food, song, dance and informal conversation about the play.  There will be approximately forty five minutes of written material in a reading/performance.  Actors will include: * Stephanie Taylor & Stacy Osei-Kuffour

 *Appears Courtesy of AEA

 AND

The food lets get to the food!

Food made by the illustrious but very private & famously volitile chef -

****Meyer Kutya!!!!

(those are four Michelin stars can’t you tell?)

Presenting to you a tasting menu of northern, and southern cuisines of the North American continent specifically the island of New York City, the City of New Orleans, and the state of South Carolina.  The chef will provide ethnic flavors of Jewish, Japanese, Cajun and Southern cuisine in a uniquely New Yorkean patois of the palate.

This will be a fundraiser for both WOW and Dogsbody Theater.

A benefit for this amazing collective that I’ve been part of and made my artistic home for 11 years!   WOW Café Theatre founded and built by Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver (springing forth outta their heads like Athena) in the form of a Women's Performance Festival called Women’s One World thirty years ago.  It morphed, they got a space. It was a doll factory they rebuilt into a theater!  Luminaries of the theater, dance and music world queer, str8 and trans have graced the stage. It’s WOWs 30th Anniversary this year!  WOW is the longest continuously running women's and transgender theater collective in the country.

$10 Just for the reading.
