April 13th, 20th & 27th  – “Human Doing, Human Being” by Behzad Dabir-Panah (a.k.a. Behzad Dabiri), an actor, writer, and storyteller whose journey from a turbulent childhood escaping religious persecution in Tehran to New York City shapes his deeply reflective work. Known for his roles in Law & Order SVU, Homeland and Madam Secretary, Behzad blends raw personal experience with profound spiritual insight in his writing.

“Human Doing, Human Being” is a moving memoir that shares the author’s journey overcoming immense obstacles. Having to endure physical, emotional, and psychological abuse from a very young age, he found himself homeless and on the streets at around seven years old. Due to religious persecutions, he escaped Iran and arrived in the States in his early teens. “Human Doing, Human Being” doesn’t merely narrate a personal journey; it serves as a compelling counter-narrative to societal systems. It challenges the very structures that perpetuated rejection and abuse, offering a searing critique of the collective ego, societal norms, and religious persecutions.
