BIOS
GORDON BEEFERMAN’s work as a composer spans opera, orchestral, solo and chamber music, avant-garde jazz, and collaborations with dance, literary and visual arts. As a pianist, he has performed internationally, in venues from the Coney Island Museum to the Berliner Festspielhaus. His recordings are available on Innova, OutNow, Genuin and Generate Records. www.gordonbeeferman.com
CORINNE CHATEAU has appeared in feature films, television, and on and off-Broadway. She is a Directing Fellow of the American Film Institute. She has authored the play The Sun Shines East; a book The Road to Cali; and is currently editing her documentary film, Safer in Silence. She is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio and the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
CHARLOTTE JACKSON is the librettist for the operas: The Rat Land and The Enchanted Organ, created and co-produced with composer Gordon Beeferman. Her work has been performed at NYC Opera’s VOX showcase, the Fort Worth Opera Frontiers program, the AIDS Quilt Songbook@22, Cornelia Street Cafe, DROM, B.R.I.C. Studio, and Dixon Place, among others. Her writing has appeared in the publications Obsolete, City of Strangers, and Sensitive Skin Magazine.
FRANCES SORENSEN has performed as a vocalist and musician in the bands Tinkle and Bullet, and she created and hosted the cabaret series Jam Crack, What? at the Starlight Lounge. She created and hosted the Transister Radio for PS1 Clocktower Radio, interviewing artists Larry Krone and Jim Andralis, Theo Kogan, Julian Fleisher, John Kelly, and Penny Arcade, among others.
LAURIE STONE is author of four books, most recently My Life as an Animal, Stories. She won the Nona Balakian prize in excellence in criticism from the National Book Critics. She participated in “Novel”, living in a house built by architects, situated in an art gallery. Her work has appeared in Fence, Open City, Anderbo, Threepenny Review and many other journals. Her latest collaboration with musical composer Gordon Beeferman, “You, the Weather, a Wolf” premiered in New York City in 2016. lauriestonewriter.com
