Growing up is supposed to mean forgetting the past. Adulthood is supposed to be a rite of passage. Learning the language for your trauma is supposed to mean you can move on from it.
But what happens when the whole world seems to thrive from the structural violence that eroded your family? What does it mean to acknowledge that maybe your entire lineage is a history of trauma? And what happens when the people you’ve been refuse to be left behind?
IN THEORY is a dance and spoken word fusion exploring how social justice theory applies to the way we live whist coping with trauma.
