we can all agree that Black women deserve the best of everything! And so this year, we give it to one of the best to ever do it!

This year, on her birthday C.Joi Sanchez host an illustrious line up of today’s hottest comedians and musicians in honor of Dara Jemmott; an unhinged comic & beloved friend to all!

Whitney Chanel is a New York City Comedian seen on Vh1, Bravo, Buzz Feed, Tubi and The Sweet Spot. Whitney Chanel has also been a featured comedian in the New York Comedy festival. Her comedy takes you to a place where you can be your authentic self and hear your stories and life expriences through someone else. She’s a force to be reckoned with but has jokes you’ll want to share with your mother!

Dave Lester is a 20yr veteran of stand up who’s been on Apollo, TV1 & most recently recorded his debut 1hr stand up special entitled “And How Did That Make You Feel?” currently available on Amazon Prime & am album on all streaming platforms! A divorced dad, journeyman & social critic; his no-nonsense approach with anecdotes that endear him to any audience makes him a wildly fun experience you’ll never forget.

Stephen Bolles is an NYC-based comedian originally from Virginia. Starting in 2013 around Norfolk, he was a four-time winner of the Clash of the Comics competition at the Funny Bones in VA Beach & Richmond, and was a regular host at Cozzy’s Comedy Club. After moving to NYC in 2014, he was named Manhattan Comedy Festival’s “Funniest Under 25,” unfortunately he’s now 31. Fortunately since then, he’s been passed at Stand Up NY & New York Comedy Club, hosting regularly at the latter. He’s performed at Carolines, The Stand, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Eastville Comedy Club, Grove34, the PIT, UCB, and countless other venues throughout the city. Divya Gunasekaran is a New York-based writer and standup comedian who has previously been seen on the Netflix is a Joke Festival, the NY Comedy Festival, and PBS. She is currently a writer on a UCB house sketch team. Outside of comedy, Divya’s life goals include cage diving with great white sharks and winning a pie eating contest.

Chewy May is a New York City based comedian with a plethora of comedy festival performances all over the country.

Born and raised in NYC, Eli Ramos is an up-and-coming comedian and writer who “likes to sit down.” You might catch him at the Cellar, if they build a ramp or a lift someday…

Dara Jemmott is a Brooklyn based comedian, host, voice over artist and actress. Dara has been entertaining audiences on stages since she was three years old. She performs all around the country, and has even taken her talents to the UK and Spain. Dara was most recently featured in the 2022 Katra Film Series for “Hysterical Justice” (Series Winnner) Her performance in the short, “Where’s My White Privilege?” landed her in Just For Laughs – Eat My Shorts (2021).The short was also featured in the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (2022), Toronto Black Film Festival (2021), Houston Comedy Film Festival, Hip Hop Film Festival (2021). Dara won Best Actor- Gold Category, in the 2021 Best Actors Awards New York. Dara has also been featured in the Black Women in Comedy Festival and BET. When not performing, Dara trains young students and performers in stand up, acting and improv, in numerous NYC schools through Stand Up Girls and Little Humans/Big Dreams! You can also catch her podcast, she co-hosts, Comedians for Hire, which was inspired by her personal journey of ditching the corporate cubicle for the crazy world of comedy and entertainment.
