This class is for fats, friends, and allies!
We will delve into meaningful discussions on the origins of fatphobia and weight stigma, exploring the thin ideal, race, beauty, aesthetics, and how they show up in the rope scene. Through lecture and group discussion, we will navigate the complexities of desirability politics, challenge anti-fat narratives in rope, and celebrate diversity in the realm of rope bottoming.
All levels of rope experience (including people totally new to rope!) are welcome at this workshop. No experience needed.
About the presenter: Violet Bights (she/her) is a femme rope switch from Western Mass. She has a passion for playing with pain, tenderness, and raw vulnerability through rope bondage. While not in rope, Violet works in the mental health field as a therapist with fellow queer and neurodivergent folks. For fun, you can find her geeking out about the ritual of negotiation and building systems of community care and organizing local events.
